He impressed the crowd with his energetic dance moves and killer vocals while performing Michael Jackson's Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' on The Voice last week.
But contestant Aydan Calafiore was forced to defend himself on Friday, after Sonia Kruger accused him of lip-syncing during an awkward interview on Today Extra.
The 17-year-old singer set the record straight after Sonia remarked: 'I have a confession to make – I actually thought you weren't singing live.'

After a slight pause, Aydan answered: 'Yeah? I was'.
Sonia hastily replied: 'Because you were dancing flat out and singing so well at the same time.'
Her co-host David Campbell then stepped in and joked: 'It's because he's 17!'
Aydan responded: 'I got these young lungs!'
Awkward! Sonia said, 'I have a confession to make – I actually thought you weren't singing live'
He added, seriously: 'I was definitely live. That was one of the biggest challenges of the whole week. I was on the treadmill twice a day singing.'
Aydan also addressed the facts fans have been comparing him to Justin Bieber ever since he performed Despacito in his blind audition.
Looking rather bashful, the Melbourne native admitted: 'We are very different but we are also very similar.'
The real deal: Aydan said, 'I was definitely live. That was one of the biggest challenges of the whole week. I was on the treadmill twice a day singing'
Aydan made headlines last month when he accidentally made a cheeky comment about his opponent Madi Krstevski during The Voice's knockout round.
At the end of their performance of Bruno Mars' hit Uptown Funk, Aydan was chosen by coach Joe Jonas to continue through to the next round.
But as Aydan complimented Madi about how well they worked together, he inadvertently said: 'We grinded in the hotel room'.
While Aydan was clearly speaking about their hard work and preparation for the show, Madi told Daily Mail Australia the comment was 'disrespectful' and left her 'completely shocked'.
Aydan later clarified that the comment was not meant to be 'sexual' in nature and had simply been 'misinterpreted'.
