Hi NaiLovelies!
As I wore a super bright colour whilst away in Italy, I have been yearning for something more subtle since I got back. Today I have a swatch of another beautiful polish from the OPI Brazil collection to show you (two posts in one day!), this time I am wearing the gorgeous nude OPI Gelcolor Don't Bossa Nova Me Around.
Don't Bossa Nova Me Around is a pinkish toned nude with slight lilac undertones. It really is a gorgeous nude shade and the lightest colour in the 12 piece Brazil collection and incredibly easy to wear.
I had heard that the formula for this one was tricky but I experienced zero problems with it. To avoid any possible issues, I shook this in my Robart machine for two full minutes, warming for 2 minutes between shakes. I then continued to warm the bottle on my thighs whilst I prepped for the application of this mani.
There was zero shrinkage or pulling back from the cuticle and I didn't have to flash cure any nails. I took the step of applying slightly thicker coats than normal much the same way as I did for Where Did Suzi's Man-Go? in order to avoid excessive streaking of the polish and it worked perfectly.
Unfortunately, the Gelcolor formula of Don't Bossa Nova Me Around fades terribly! I have never experienced anything like it. As soon as it is cured the polish loses most of it's pink tone and looks more of a cream nude. It continues to fade each day and now two days after applying the polish it looks similar to My Vampire Is Buff, but less yellow. This is a shame, but luckily I really like the faded colour and I think it works well with my skin tone.

I had been toying with the idea of getting Don't Bossa Nova Me Around in regular polish as I thought it would be a great nude tone to add to my OPI polish collection. When I saw the fading during the manicure I knew I needed to get the regular polish so I hot footed it down to my local Sally's.
As I have completed a Manicure and Spa Manicure course I am now the proud owner of a Sally's Trade Card so I grabbed a bottle of Don't Bossa Nova Me Around (and a few others!) for a great price. As I now have both formulas, I decided to do a quick comparison between them.

You may be able to see the pinkish tone more in the picture above and if the Gelcolor didn't fade during curing it would be a spot on match.
