CHRISTMAS LOOK BOOKS 12: Warehouse

It's that time of year again when the Christmas look books come flooding in! We have already had a look at River Island, who, to be fair, have set the standard for this year - they have an amazingly strong winter collection and a cracking Christmas collection too. Nice!
So this time it is the turn of Warehouse to show us their stuff - I'm not overly impressed with it. I have to be honest that there were a lot of things that were just simply....meh.... I don't have a lot of success myself with warehouse. I know some of my friends have bought beautiful things in there but I never seem to be able to. The above dress is one of the more interesting items and because the model is turned away - we can't see any detail of the dress other then its long and black.
I can't really pick out where they were going with the look book - trend wise. It doesn't seem to have a strong over all finish. The dress at the top made me think - Great Gatsby - which would have been timely if the film was going to be out at that time but sadly it wont be! However I don't really see echoes of the 1920s anywhere else in the collection. It seems almost random. I do see the 1940s a little though....but then Warehouse always have tea dresses and afternoon dresses...

I'm sure I'm just being grumpy and maybe there might be more to come over the next few weeks which will change my mind - but for now I am just unimpressed with it. There are one or two items but no collective wow factor. The collection seems mismatched and a bit confused to me. Still, I'm sure items like that maxi dresses, once we actually get to see it , will fly off the rails....
