One of the highly awaited albums of the year is of Shawn Mendes. Titled 'Wonder', the lead single was released last month and the album will be out in December. For some time, the singer has been teasing a secret collaboration on the track 'Monster'. And it's none other than Justin Bieber.
The two Canadian popstars have collaborated on Mendes' upcoming album, 'Wonder'. During his interactive VR experience, Mendes had teased a special guest will be part of the single. It was released today on November 20. The music video sees the two stars walk through a park in the foggy night as they confront their past when they were put on a pedestal in their teen years and talk about the drawbacks of fame. "You put me on a pedestal and tell me I'm the best / Raise me up into the sky until I'm short of breath (Yeah) / Fill me up with confidence, I say what's in my chest / Spill my words and tear me down until there's nothing left / Rearrange the pieces just to fit me with the rest, yeah."
"But what if I, what if I trip? / What if I, what if I fall? / Then am I the monster? / Just let me know." Written by Frank Dukes, Daniel Caesar, Mustafa, Justin Bieber & Shawn Mendes, the song perfectly narrates the story of two celebrities, the anxiety that comes with fame, and how being in the public eye can truly change you.
'Wonder' will release on December 4, 2020.
