Just in time to make the last day of September and my latest instalment of 'Through the Garden Gate'. I am of course joining Sarah who started this lovely monthly visit to different gardens around the world. Click here to see her garden and more.
The first thing I do on a return home, whatever the time of day , is to wander around the garden. Youngest has been keeping an eye but Autumn is beginning to tell and the garden is on its slow decline. Despite that the shocking pink cosmos were there to greet me. In the space of two weeks they have shot up and dominate the top border with their glorious colour.
Pampas grasses are looking good and still lots of tomatoes to pick, although leaves are shrivelling quickly. We'l have to get a ladder out to capture the few apples still on the tree. The few we had this year are perched up high.
The next few weeks will be spent tidying and planting bulbs. Lots of alliums to go in for next year. Plus I need to check out the dahlia tubers, as this year was not good for them. Not sure why?
As usual the fuchsias are still glorious and will continue to give colour until the end of the year. Roses too have put out another burst of blooms along with the hibiscus.
So how about you. Is your garden looking good with lots of Autumn colour? What is your favourite plant this month?
